Polygala paniculata is a slender
herb that has small leaves, tiny white flowers and roots that give off a strong odour.
This delicate-looking plant is easily found in the forest, especially at high altitudes.
The roots and leaves have been studied and found to contain an essential oil which is used
in modern medicine to treat asthma, chronic bronchitis and related ailments.
