Hempudu Bumi
| Andrographis Paniculata This herb of the rainforest is an effective remedy for treatment of diabetes, fever and even as a painkiller against snake bites. The plant could be boiled in water and the bitter potion drunk to help lower hypertension. Its common name, Hempudu Bumi, which literally means 'bites of the earth', is attributed to the existence of a chemical component called furanditerpene. It is also popular in India, China and Southeast Asia. Known as Chaun Xin Lian in China, where this herb is widely cultivated, it is also effective for treating tonsillitis, flu and chest pains. |
