Gandasuli

This species, a member of the ginger family, is known in Malaysia as Gandasuli, which is Janavese means 'Fragrance of the Princess'. A herb of the swampy regions of the forest, this species is currently being researched to identify possible antihypertensive chemical properties. The possibility of commercialising this plant as an insect repellant is also being explored.
