New herbal products for arthritis , obesity
Kuala Lumpur : Malaysia with obesity and arthritis will have other means to overcome the problems with the introduction of two new Ayurvedic herbal formulation in the market soon.OZE Marketing Sdn Bhd Director Subhas Kannan said Malaysia would be the first market for the product called Arthrid and Trim Cap in Southeast Asia.
The herbal product were launched in India in 1996 after intensive test over a period of 10 years and are being used by nearly five million people in India alone,he said.
" In Malaysia ,the formulation have been approved by the Health Ministry and will be available at all leading pharmacies from Sept 15 ," he told reporters at the launching of the two herbal products to relieve arthritic pain and reducing body weigh here yesterday.
The formulation were manufactured by one of Indias biggest pharmaceutical company TTK Pharma Ltd., a Chennai-based company. OZE Marketing is its sole agent in Malysia as of early this years.
TTK pharma traces its origins to 1958 and to date had produced more than 80 formulation some of which were among the best known in India, including Woodwards Gripe Water.
TTK pharma Vice-President (Technical) Dr K.A Narendra said both Arthrid and TrimCap had been exported to countries such as New Zealand, Australia ,Belgium and the United States. Annual export were in the region of US$8 million.
He said the Ayurvedic approach to weight control, consisting of water soluble extract trimpCap offered a safe solution to control obesity and related problems.
He said both product have no side effects and were also safe for pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Arthritis is a general term denoting damage to a joint by disease or injury. It is common among women although it could also affect men irrespective of their age, race and social status including children.
The recommended price for Arthrid is RM29.90 for a bottle of 120 capsules and is accompanied by anointment costing RM7.90 while TrimpCap is RM39.90 per bottle of 120 capsules.
